A memoir of sorts that calls for recognising value of indigenous knowledge - the most diverse places in the world are those that are stewarded by indigenous communities; english language reduces the animate to the inanimate through the word ‘it’ - but the more-than-human is our kin. Reciprocity and animacy is central to Kimmerer’s philosophy.
